I stayed here for 8 nights on my first ever trip to Japan, it's a great location with several Metro Stations nearby and about an 8-10 minute walk from Tokyo Station. It's in a nice area with several conbinis convenience stores within a 3 minute walk, both Family Mart and 7-11 and a supermarket, very handy. The staff were very kind and friendly and polite and made me feel very welcome. the room was super clean and fresh and the bed was beautifully comfortable with all the amenities you would expect in a Japanese Hotel. There was a kettle and a fridge, so I could buy milk and tea and make my tea just how I like back home. There were vending machines selling drinks, a laundry room with washing machines and dryers and a microwave should you want to warm up a quick snack. I didn't book the breakfast option but I did buy the breakfast for two of the mornings and it's a typical Japanese Breakfast which I found perfectly delicious and set me up for the morning, Those not used to a Japanese Breakfast might prefer to go somewhere else for brekkie. There is an amazing French Coffee Shop underneath the Mitsukoshimae Station where you can get croissants and pain au chocolat and great coffee if you prefer. Room size was perfect for me as a solo visitor a nice wide bed, a desk and a chair, typical sized Japanese bath which is always short and deep as how they bathe. I would 100% book this hotel again for my next visit to Tokyo as for my needs v budget it was perfect. My only 1 criticism if any is that the window is frosted and only opens slightly at an angle, so you can see out of it if you open it but you can't really sit in bed and look out the window. But to be honest it was fine, I was up and out early and back later in the day, so wasn't really spending time in the room staring out the window. House-keeping was spot on, made the bed every day, fresh towels and Japanese Pyjamas and slippers. One of the nights I stayed elsewhere so just left the hotel that night and returned the following night. If you have any doubts about booking this place then don't have any doubts just book it.

This Smile Hotel location is budget oriented and I believe was, or is, a business oriented hotel. I selected the area as I was in Shinjuku both times initially for my Japan trips, then after returning from Kyoto I wanted to stay in another part of Tokyo before leaving and also to be near Tokyo Station for convenience. Chose this based on reviews plus a blog that mentioned both of the Smile hotels (within 15 min walk of each other) along with functional budget purposes, and there were few choices for a last minute November in budget category. The hotel is very clean, the staff is very professional, the kitchen crew is very friendly. The breakfast is primarily Japanese style buffet, there is also eggs some fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, toaster and coffee available (the coffee was very good!). The hotel room needs a refresh/ update in decor as I feel I stepped back a few decades. Perhaps only paint and new wall covering and carpeting in rooms is enough. I can't imagine a major remodel as that would be difficult to justify; in my room there was a lot of luggage scuffs and an indentation in one of the walls (not sure why but something hit it at one time.) The bed definitely was very comfortable! The room was very tight - typical business hotel style, and the bathroom is the step-up-into VERY very small style that to me seems as if it was updated in the 1990s. BUT I stress that this is a VERY clean hotel and the location is great. Plus the usual amenities. You won't spend much time here anyways as you are here to see Tokyo. It is about 15-20 minute walk to Tokyo Station which has plenty of food choices and this hotel is located in a great walking area with plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby, shopping, etc. Transit connections nearby, so easy access to other wards. The elegant and historic Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store is very close and worth going into, and also nearby is historic Takashimaya Department Store, and Ginza itself.

I've stayed at a bunch of these business hotels and it's nice to know what amenities to expect. It's pretty amazing that the rooms can be smaller than I've seen previously, as this room is! Some nice features about the room I had is it was very quiet (facing another building) and the window shutters kept the room nice and dark for a good night's sleep into the next morning. The hair dryer was more powerful than the typical wall unit one. Very convenient location with several subway lines (Asakusa/Keikyu line can get to Haneda), walkable to Tokyo Station and the Mandarin Oriental (short walk) has limo bus to NRT. Tons of great little eateries and cafes. Bed feels firmer than usual, nice down comforter. Don't confuse with the Smile Nihombashi location. Friendly staff, nice place to get some shut eye.

Good location, about a 5-7 min walk to subway station. In a cute little pocket area with authentic local restaurants. About a 25 min walk to Tokyo station. The rooms however are very small, but clean. The washroom was small, but the shower head was very strong so that's good. There was some black mold around the shampoo dispenser which was kind of nasty. The washroom had a weird sewage smell at times. It's a decent hotel if location is key. Also the breakfast wasn't worth the price, I wouldn't recommend getting it.

Had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. Room is clean and perfect for Solo Traveller like me it is great value for money. Location is perfect, close to subway, restaurants and supermarket. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Wifi works well during my stay.
